Human Resources Assistant

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an individual with a passion for HR to join our HR team at our head office. As a Human Resources Assistant you will be providing comprehensive administrative support to the HR function including employee benefits, HR reporting and providing advice on procedures to managers. You’ll need to be an effective communicator both verbally and written, well organized in order to priorities tasks and meet tight deadlines.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Manage the administration of the staff travel passes
• Run statistical reporting for key HR metrics from the HR database
• Managing the administration of employee benefits and being first point of contact for suppliers
• Run HR reports for distribution to garages and monitor feedback and responses
• Respond to employment, mortgage, tenancy and any other reference requests for employees
• Send out pension postponement letters to new starters
• Update and maintain the HR system and any HR databases and ensure information is accurate
• Oversee responses to subject access requests from employees
• Work with the HR team on any training courses being managed from Head office to ensure these are effectively and efficiently administered
• Process purchase orders and invoicing for HR suppliers
• Assist with and answer queries for the HR and Learning and Development team including those from the garages and external suppliers
• Any other day to day administration required to support the HR and Learning and Development Function
• Undertake HR project work as and when required

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

• Experience in a front line customer service role, ideally within an HR work environment such as recruitment or a shared service centre
• Sound work experience in a relevant administrative role gained in a professional/corporate environment, ideally with a recruitment or generalist HR focus
• Highly organised with excellent time management skills
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• A basic understanding of UK employment legislation is highly desirable
• Experience using an HR database and running statistical reports is highly desirable
• High level of computer literacy and competency in Microsoft Office and Excel
• Has a positive, constructive and upbeat attitude
