HR Trainee 2 year fixed term contract

An exciting opportunity has arisen for someone looking to develop a career within HR and/or a people management role. This is a newly created trainee position which focuses on developing the candidate’s experience, skills and knowledge to supervisory level. 

You will have an opportunity to undertake a range of HR placements focusing on areas such as:  Restructuring and re-organisation, TUPE, Employee relations, Management Information, Recruitment and Learning and Development. During each HR placement you will work closely with the relevant manager and team to develop your skills whilst providing them with support with the functions day to day tasks.

You will also undertake placements within the garage and head office departments to develop knowledge of key job roles in the business and a sound commercial understanding.  The programme is flexible and will be adapted to respond to the changing needs of the HR function and business, and the developing interests and capabilities of the trainee.  

To be considered for this position you will need to be an enthusiastic and positive individual with at least 2 years work experience ideally within a HR environment, combined with good working knowledge of Microsoft office. A degree, part-CIPD qualified or other business related qualification is preferred but not essential. Those without relevant qualifications should have transferable skills and knowledge, demonstrate aptitude for the role and be able to undertake further training including possible academic study.

A genuine interest and passion for HR and/or People Management as a career is a must. You will also be proactive with a passion to continuous learning and development. This role requires someone who is resilient and able to stay calm under pressure and manage a variety of different stakeholders. Strong communication and organisational skills combined with the ability to prioritise and meet deadline is also important.
